Breakfast is Under Attack

Hello Reader,

This morning I wanted some breakfast. Firstly, I can recall when getting breakfast wasn't such a task. I feel like it use to be easier to go somewhere, grab something quick to eat for breakfast, and don't pay an arm and a leg for it. But at least right now there feels like there might be a war on breakfast. Earlier this year McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski sounded the alarm by saying that consumers have been skipping breakfast. Breakfast is becoming a luxury item where either you can afford a double digit price tag breakfast or you may just not be eating it. Okay, that's understandable enough, but the plot twist for me is, while people encounter challenges to eat breakfast, breakfast is also becoming less available.

This morning I went to a fast food chain that use to have breakfast. It was 9am. I pulled up and only saw the regular menu not the breakfast menu. I asked, "any breakfast?" The person working the drive through replied, "no, only burgers." I drove off. Then I went to a convenience store that usually has a decent breakfast like assortment of food products. This particular establishment had about 50% less options than what I was conditioned to perceiving. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I think that there are a lot of things that can be done better about breakfast on a regular basis, that said I would be sad to see breakfast get corrupted and or get phased out of people's lived experience.

Ken's Corner:

I saw a video over the weekend of Attorney General Pam Bondi testifying to Congress. The video I saw particularly highlighted parts of her appearance where she started weaponizing the Epstein files. When asked certain questions she would accuse the the congress member asking the question of ties with Epstein. This is particularly annoying to me because she and the Trump administration at large has told the American people that the files don't exist. The files were on Bondi's desk then they fell off into an abyss never to be seen again, only to be resurfaced and used as an attack against political opponents. I don't think that's fair. I'm glad the Congress is pressing the administration on this because they are obviously hiding something. If the Epstein files are going to be weaponized they should be made public so everyone knows who's implicated and those who are can stand on their integrity or lack thereof.

We're coming off a turbulent few weeks and I missed the weekly roundup last week, so here is some of our latest recently released content (click each corresponding thumbnail to open):

Leader - someone who guides by going first.

Up until recently one of the biggest barriers to that peace has been the Israeli government themselves.

Hello Reader, They say you meet the same faces in different places. Or that the higher you go the similar it gets. There are the same mindsets and the same archetypes of people on every level. Ambition isn't enough. You could be willing to go the distance but there will always be someone telling you how far you can go. This experience looks different for everyone and can have a slew of mitigating factors; but ultimately, this is one of the roads towards radicalism. But even becoming...

Hello Reader, I am basically in end of the year mode. There are still almost two full months left on the calendar and I am not taking my foot off the gas, but at the same time, I am beginning to consider what 2026 is going to be like. There were a lot of things that we did well this year as a business. I am excited to build on my progress, that said, and as you know, the last couple months have been a challenge so I am also considering how I can make this experience more sustainable for me as...

Hey Reader, I'm learning how to let go in real time. I was preparing for the day today and while doing so a task came up on my schedule that was left over from yesterday. In that moment a decision was made that if I didn't do it, it wasn't going to be done. The thing i'm referring to was relatively low stakes so it was easy to let go of, but also because of that, it informed my thought process on what it's like to let go of certain things.
