Top of Mind

Hello Reader,

Don't forget to check us out on X (twitter) where I exclusively post my commentary on current events outside of dedicated content. We made this transition a couple of weeks ago and it's working well. There are some more logistics I want to work out but otherwise this is the direction we are on in this regard for the foreseeable future.

Encouragement For Your Week

This week I want to encourage you to do your own [dirty] work. I'm not implying that you or I have "dirty work," it's simply a common saying that might fire off certain synapses for you. More broadly, there are laborious tasks in life that come with the responsibility of being alive. In a world where AI agents are popping up all over the place and automation is just one the latest buzz words, it can be easy to put off or forget some of the work associated with producing anything of note. Don't neglect to proof read your work, double check your deliverables, participate in criticism as the giver and receiver, and make sure you follow through on what's within your purview. Doing the due diligence to make sure that something is right and or up to a certain standard will set you apart, increase your value, and make sure that your work is well received.

Thank you for reading this week's Newsletter be sure to share us with your network. You can get in contact with me by responding to this email directly or here.

I hope you have a great week!

All the best,

Ken

Labor Day In recognition of Labor Day there will be no new content published the week of August 31-September 6, 2025. A reminder will be sent next week. Ken's Corner Among the things on my mind today and this week, so far, is the idea of if you love something you should let it go. It's a nice sounding philosophy but what are it's implications and is something...

Hello Reader, Over the weekend I learned about a concept that disturbed me immensely. That concept is "memetic desires." Memetic desires refers to a person's inability to individuate. A memetic desire is when a person takes on the desires of someone else. For example, let's say you have a goal or desire to travel and you tell someone or someone in your sphere of influence catches wind of your desire. all of a sudden that person espouses how they want to travel and go different places, even...

Hello Reader, I apologize for no roundup for last week and for this newsletter coming later in the day. Last week was a bit of a drag and by the time the weekend came not only was I still working on some content, I also had a meeting that I had to go to; which by the time it ended suggested to me that the content I was producing wouldn't have been done justice if I just rushed through it. I will highlight some content in the spotlight section, but first I want to unpack the significance of...
