Help Yourself

Hello Reader,

They say you meet the same faces in different places. Or that the higher you go the similar it gets. There are the same mindsets and the same archetypes of people on every level. Ambition isn't enough. You could be willing to go the distance but there will always be someone telling you how far you can go. This experience looks different for everyone and can have a slew of mitigating factors; but ultimately, this is one of the roads towards radicalism. But even becoming radicalized isn't enough. That energy still has to be channeled into something objectively productive.

Coming Up at Life with Ken

It's time for our year-end business review! twice a year we reflect and vision cast we do one at the end of spring and one during the fall, with our fall report usually being more substantial. Those meetings are beginning to be had with one of the things on the agenda being whether or not we are going to make this process public this year. You will be updated on the direction but we may choose to not publish related content this year.

Also, we are taking next Thursday an Friday off for Thanksgiving. This means next week there will be a newsletter, a Tuesday article, founding member's content, and we'll be active on our social media. Finally, this week marks the one year anniversary of my book, "Get Your Mind Right" there is a lot to celebrate and discuss so Life with Ken will be circulating some promotional content for "Get Your mInd right" over the course of the next couple of weeks.

Ken's Corner

I am trying to figure out what I want. Because on one hand there are the "desires of my heart" or the things that consistently and instantly come to mind when I consider life's more out of body questions for me. Then I am forced to reconcile with my context. After I see what I want and where I am at then the next thing that comes to my mind is, how do I self-actualize? I know the method but i'm still trying to figure out the manifestation. Where you are influences who you are which is why you should want to be in conducive places. Who are you when your self-concept is at odds with your environment? A leader; you're a leader.

Here is some content for you to reflect on and consider this week (click a thumbnail to view):

Get Your Mind Right is a self-help book based on psychological principles and is amplified by various other disciplines and experiences.

The common good or asabiyyah is the glue that holds the fabrics of societies together. This isn’t because you get paid for your work, it’s because you feel as though your work is actually contributing to asabiyyah.

Hello Reader, I am basically in end of the year mode. There are still almost two full months left on the calendar and I am not taking my foot off the gas, but at the same time, I am beginning to consider what 2026 is going to be like. There were a lot of things that we did well this year as a business. I am excited to build on my progress, that said, and as you know, the last couple months have been a challenge so I am also considering how I can make this experience more sustainable for me as...

Hey Reader, I'm learning how to let go in real time. I was preparing for the day today and while doing so a task came up on my schedule that was left over from yesterday. In that moment a decision was made that if I didn't do it, it wasn't going to be done. The thing i'm referring to was relatively low stakes so it was easy to let go of, but also because of that, it informed my thought process on what it's like to let go of certain things. Hello Reader, I won't be long today. I want to encourage you with some of the things that I am doing to perpetuate forward focused activity in this season: Framing🪟: I can have a tendency to view things in extremes. Sometimes I wish my lived experience, and the world more objectively speaking was more binary. That said, this kind of thinking can sometimes distort reality and a result if you can relate to functioning this way, sometimes you may make something out of nothing in a debilitating...
