Hey Reader, What is meant for you has moderation. The earth has over 8 billion people on it and counting. It's impossible to hoard all of the world's resources. The very idea that resources need to hoarded is indicative of a scarcity mindset. The best way to enjoy something is to know when you've had enough. Too much of anything is a bad thing. This is a compilation of a few stories that are related at least thematically. Papua New Guinea may be becoming the new Havana, Cuba. Havana among certain government and political officials has been revered for its laissez-faire environment and atmosphere. I am not saying that similar shenanigans are happening in Papua New Guinea but within the last year several diplomats have visited the pacific island nation. As tensions rise in the pacific it's increasingly becoming an area of geopolitical interest. Recently diplomats from China and America, Prime minister Narendra Modi of India, President Joko Widodo of Indonesia, French President Emmanuel Macron, South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol, and other state officials have made it their business to visit Papua New Guinea (PNG). Nothing of note has materialized from these visits as of yet, but this is a who's who of diplomats and dignitaries. Of course economics is involved in whatever is happening. Speaking of, also happening in the world's largest ocean that may have some major attention from some key power players is the fire in Maui. Towards the end of last week a major wildfire broke out on the Hawaii island of Maui. The cause of the fire is unknown as of the publishing of this newsletter however, Hawaiian officials claim that prior to, and during the start of the fire, Maui was under a red flag warning; and experiencing fire weather conditions, with a combination of dry conditions from foliage, low humidity, and high winds. Oprah Winfrey, Jimmy Buffett, Jeff Bezos, Larry Ellison, Clint Eastwood, Steven Tyler, and Jensen Huang are just a few of the affluent people who own property on Maui. Oprah is leading this pack as she has added to her property in Maui and has acquired a total 1000 acres since March of this year.
Finally, another city and country ablaze is Catania, Sicily. Mount Etna is a volcano in Catania and it erupted early Monday morning. The lava has stopped flowing however travel at this time is virtually impossible. Flights were grounded, and ground transportation has been all but halted. All of these fires literal, political, or otherwise, are definitely a cause for pause. Are these coincidence, or something else? Word of Encouragement This week I want to encourage you to take it easy. Things are always happening. That's the nature of life, things happen. Colloquially you may use a different word for things. But regardless of what happens around you, those things don't have to happen to you. You will get through. There is "better" with your name on it. It's always a pleasure to share with you, feel free to reach out if you're inclined to to do, and have an outstanding week! |

Hello Reader, It's March and among other things it's also Women's History Month. Beautiful and industrious women throughout history have done so much to brighten this sometimes dark world and I am grateful to be able to acknowledge the role women have played in in making a difference. I am going to consider doing a profile piece on some impactful women for a newsletter later this month so stay tune to see if that materializes, but otherwise let's all, man and woman alike, keep forging ahead!...
