I want to give you my best, not a mess. Not that I do anything messy per say, but I don’t want to dive off the metaphorical deep end without any sort of life preserver. Click here to read this article.

News Brief

To be honest, there isn't that much interesting news this week. There is backlash from Elon's tweet for government agencies to submit a weekly report. Trump wants to cut the U.S. defense budget by 8% yearly, over the next five years. European leaders are marking the occasion of three years of war in Ukraine. There is a developing story about a shoot out in York PA, and otherwise I could talk about Israel. The news cycle is slow but also this is part of the dividend that you get for being part of the Life with Ken community. I've touched on some aspect of almost every highlight mentioned in a previous Newsletter or on my X account. We are not a news Newsletter. I share interesting stories because I want to encourage you to be a more well rounded, learned, and relevant person. Follow us on social media and I'll give my take on some compelling stories as more news develops this week. That said, the pope is in the hospital for double pneumonia he is in good spirits and is being well taken care of.

Encouragement for Your Week

This week I want to encourage you to get comfortable. I used to be of the mindset of staying uncomfortable for an undetermined period of time out of respect for whatever my context was at the time, until I felt it was safe to be more loose. What would happen more often than not is I'd enter a new season, have a new life circumstance of some kind and be tepid and timid. After several months I'd feel like it's okay for me to start proverbially unpacking and making the space mine, only to all of a sudden have things change on me and I end up being in a new scenario, and starting this cycle all over again; not this time. I find myself in a new situation yet again, and instead of waiting until the end of this new season in my life to get comfortable, I'm choosing to get comfortable on day one. I don't care how long this new season lasts, five minutes, five months, or five years, I'm inhabiting my space period. Things in life can change too often for you to wait for the right moment. By the time the right moment comes it's time for a new moment. So, get comfortable now. Act like you own the place now. Be the head person in charge now. Decorate that proverbial or literal office now. All that's going to happen is something else will change and you'll have to inhabit a new situation. Get comfortable quickly so you can be as effective as possible for as long as possible.

Hey Reader, I don't know how often this happens but it happens often enough for me to talk about it. Every once and a while I have an existential crisis with respect to doing this work. I place a high expectation on myself because despite certain limitations I know I have the capacity and ability to excel. When I feel like i'm not excelling it makes me want to give up. I rather not try or stop trying than to only be able to achieve mediocrity. I know things take time and I should practice...

June 30, 2025 Life with Ken Weekly Newsletter

Hello Reader, Don't forget to check us out on X (twitter) where I exclusively post my commentary on current events outside of dedicated content. We made this transition a couple of weeks ago and it's working well. There are some more logistics I want to work out but otherwise this is the direction we are on in this regard for the foreseeable future. Life with Ken 2025 Mid-Year Business Review Last week we published our mid-year review for 2025. As Life with Ken grows as a business it's...

Hello Reader, I want to briefly talk about scaling. scaling is a term commonly used in business and simply refers to increasing your capacity to do more. When you scale, or come to scale, or are at scale you are doing the most you can with the resources you have for a specific purpose. Essentially you are meeting demand when scaling is done right. When scaling is done wrong you are wasting resources. This is because scaling is meant to be accommodating. But if you have nothing to accommodate...
