In With The New

Hey Reader,

Holiday season is here! I feel as though generally no one is in a rush to get to Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, or New Years, but as this year begins to wind down the more prepared you are, likely the better. The meaning of the holidays has changed for me over time but there is still plenty to look forward to. That said, while we look towards the future, there is still work to do today.

Update

I mentioned this in our October 14, 2024 Newsletter but now I want to make a more official announcement:

Life with Ken as a lifestyle brand is changing directions.

Prior to October 14, 2024 Life with Ken orbited around our courses. They were our center of gravity. After some reflection and introspection, we’ve decided to steer away from courses. By doing so, that is allowing us to embrace other aspects of our offerings. The vision is to lean into the casual luxurious aspect of our brand. What I mean by that is, instead of explicitly gatekeeping certain information that you may find value in, we will be leaning into curating experiences that you can get individual value from.

This way of doing things aligns more with us being a lifestyle brand and it makes us more approachable. This is our official rollout. We’ve made some updates to the main website including centering our store, streamlining our media-articles, videos, and images, and creating a cleaner and more user-friendly experience. We hope you enjoy and get more value out of this new direction for us. Our goal, mission, and values haven’t changed; we're just pivoting and trying something new that will hopefully be more fruitful for you and for us.

Get Your Mind Right

My book, Get Your Mind Right, releases in two weeks! That’s right, my debut title comes out November 19, 2024. Be sure to get yourself and a family member, significant other, or your friends a copy. Visit the book’s website to order your copy and learn more.

What I am Interested in This Week:

Election Day 2024

Tomorrow is election day in America and I want to remind and inspire you to vote if you’re an American citizen. I like to keep Life with Ken apolitical in terms of picking a side, even though I personally have some political views. My political formation has been an important part as to why I am the way that I am. Politics was a way for me to achieve relative relevance in a world where I am uninterested in some of the more conventional interests of people. I hope to take a step back from this topic moving forward however, because my values have been developed. Meaning, I know what I want and what matters to me and droning on about something not only isn’t my style, but it is also a laborious endeavor that should be handled with more care and intentionality.

I don’t want to get worked up just because someone did something I did or didn’t like. Unfortunately or fortunately, that’s life. People exist and people will do things other people are in favor of or against. I rather advocate for the things that really matter to me; and for the things that I can be ambivalent about, I think that’s the best approach. So yes go vote, but also remember that things will always be crappy one way or another. That doesn’t mean you can’t make a difference in your corner of the world, but it also means that what you do for you and those closest to you is and will be infinitely more important.

Encouragement for Your Week

This week I want to encourage you to be optimistic. Choose to believe that better days are ahead. Choose to believe that this year will end very well for you. One of my hang ups in life has been realizing that you can’t bring everyone with you where you are going. Some people don’t want to go in your direction and others don’t want you to go in your direction. It can be sad realizing you’re alone but if that is relevant to your story, it doesn’t have to end there. You can do the work necessary to create a new reality for yourself. And with that new reality will come new experiences, new people, renewed relationships, and a new and better life. So do the work. Be optimistic about the work, and believe the work will work because it will.

Share us with your friends, family and network and follow us on social media. You can also contact me by responding to this email directly or by filling out a contact form here.

I hope this week is life changing for you for the better.

All the best,

Ken

Hey Reader, I don't know how often this happens but it happens often enough for me to talk about it. Every once and a while I have an existential crisis with respect to doing this work. I place a high expectation on myself because despite certain limitations I know I have the capacity and ability to excel. When I feel like i'm not excelling it makes me want to give up. I rather not try or stop trying than to only be able to achieve mediocrity. I know things take time and I should practice...

June 30, 2025 Life with Ken Weekly Newsletter

Hello Reader, Don't forget to check us out on X (twitter) where I exclusively post my commentary on current events outside of dedicated content. We made this transition a couple of weeks ago and it's working well. There are some more logistics I want to work out but otherwise this is the direction we are on in this regard for the foreseeable future. Life with Ken 2025 Mid-Year Business Review Last week we published our mid-year review for 2025. As Life with Ken grows as a business it's...

Hello Reader, I want to briefly talk about scaling. scaling is a term commonly used in business and simply refers to increasing your capacity to do more. When you scale, or come to scale, or are at scale you are doing the most you can with the resources you have for a specific purpose. Essentially you are meeting demand when scaling is done right. When scaling is done wrong you are wasting resources. This is because scaling is meant to be accommodating. But if you have nothing to accommodate...
